The Book of Nahum
The poetry of the Book of Hanum reveals him as one of the great poets of Israel. His God-ordained mission was to proclaim the destruction of the Assyrian capital city of Nineveh, contrasting the punishment of Assyria with the preservation of the covenant people of Judah. Nahum's prophetic message dates from before the Babylonian conquest and the destruction of Nineveh in 612 BC. References for the course are found in the Course Bibliography.
