The Second Letter to Timothy
The Second Letter to Timothy is the last of Saint Paul's letters. It was probably written in 67 AD during Paul's second imprisonment in Rome and shortly before he suffered martyrdom. Paul identifies his preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the reason for his arrest and offers his spiritual son, Saint Timothy, encouragement to persist in steadfast faith, using his own example of unwavering belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ as he looks toward the end of his temporal life and eternal life with his risen Lord.
